General Program
How many programs do you offer?
We offer 2 different types of Lawn Fertilization and Weed Management Programs for each turf type. If you have a Warm Season Turf (Bermuda, Zoysia, Centipede), you can choose between our ORIGINAL Program and our PLUS+ Program for Warm Season Turfs. If you have a Cool Season Turf (Fescue), you can choose between our ORIGINAL Program and our PLUS+ Program for Cool Season Turfs.
What if I don’t know if I have a Warm Season Turf or a Cool Season Turf?
No worries! Go ahead and request your free quote. Our team of experts will identify the type of turf you have and provide you with the appropriate quote.
I have a front yard that is one grass type and a backyard that is another grass type. Can you cater your programs to my lawn?
Absolutely! Our experts will provide you with a quote that reflects treatments to match what each type needs. Request your free Mixed Lawn quote here.
What is the difference between the ORIGINAL Fertilization Program and the PLUS+ Fertilization Program?
Our ORIGINAL Program has been our only treatment program for years! It is designed to cover the basics of “weed and feed” treatments for your lawn. This program includes fertilizer, weed management, pre-emergent, lime application, and aeration/seeding and features the ability to add on fire ant, grub control, or fungicides.
Our PLUS+ Program is brand new as of 2020. This program was designed specifically to address the issues we saw NC lawns face in 2019 and are expecting them to face again in the future. The PLUS+ includes everything from the ORIGINAL Program, “plus” a whole lot more including fire ant, grub control, fungicide, nutsedge treatment, & more.

How do I know which program is best for my lawn?
We have hundreds of lawns on the ORIGINAL and the PLUS+ program that are thriving here in NC. Like their owners, every lawn is different. Some lawns do perfectly well on the ORIGINAL Program, while other lawns need the extra boost from the PLUS+. If you already know that your lawn struggles with nutsedge, fire ants, or will benefit from fungicides or any of the extras the PLUS+ Program offers, start there! If not, then start with the ORIGINAL Program.
The good news, it’s simple switch to the ORIGINAL Program even if you start with the PLUS+, or if you later discover you want to “upgrade” to the PLUS+ from the ORIGINAL Program, we can easily make that transition. We want what’s best for your lawn, and sometimes we find that out by slight trial and error.

What is a broadleaf weed?
Broadleaf weeds are tough, aggressive plants that take advantage of any weak areas in your turf. Examples of broadleaf weeds include dandelions, chickweed, and plantain.

Can I just have aeration and seeding services?
No. We no longer offer one time aeration and seeding services. While aeration/seeding is a great thing to do to your lawn, BEST results are achieved with consistent treatments before and after service. Fortunately, all of our Lawn Fertilization & Weed Management Programs include aeration/seeding services. You can request a free program quote including aeration/seeding here.
Scheduling
It’s the middle of the year. When does treatment start and how does payment work?
For those starting with the ORIGINAL Program in the middle of the year, treatments start where we are at on the calendar.
Example: if it is May, you will start with Treatment 3 on our Treatment Calendar. Again, if you begin in May, you are responsible for paying for Treatments 3-6, but not asked to pay for Treatments 1-2 since you did not receive them. When the end of the calendar year is up in December, your program will renue and begin with Treatment 1 in January.
If you are starting with the PLUS+ Program, your treatment will simply begin with the month that you sign up and will continue for one year after program approval.
Example: If you sign up in July, your treatment will run through June of the following year.
How often do you visit my property to treat?
On our ORIGINAL Program, you will receive 6 property visits with lawn treatments following the Treatment Calendars shown on our website (or on your quote). Each of these visits are typically spaced 6 - 8 weeks apart.
On our PLUS+ Program, you will receive a property visit every month. Each monthly visit is typically scheduled for the same week (example: the first week of the month or the second week of the month) to keep your lawn on a consistent schedule.
*Please note that scheduling is tentative. While we strive to operate on the exact schedule every visit, however; weather often makes our schedule more fluid than we prefer.
Will I know ahead of time before you come to treat?
We do not typically give the exact date and time we plan to arrive to treat due to the scheduling note above*. Our treatments are non-invasive to your home, we simply step foot on your property. However, we will leave a small flag on your lawn after each visit and email you a “Work Acknowledgment” to let you know that we we were there and treated your lawn.
If you need to be notified beforehand (ex: you have a locked gate, a dog, need to move a trampoline) or just prefer to have a heads up, we are happy to sign you up on our “Email First” list. You will receive an email prior to our arrival for treatment. Simply call our office to request or send an email to request.
Product
Do you use granular or liquid product?
We use a mixture of granular and liquid treatments, depending on the treatment. You can expect both to be used at various times throughout the year.
Is my lawn safe for children or pets to play on after treatment?
After the product has completely dried, the lawn is safe for your loved ones to be on again. Typically the dry time is 2 hours post treatment.
However, if we treat and it rains before the product has dried, your turf will still be wet, therefore the chemicals will remain on your lawn. Please wait until your lawn has completely dried before allowing children or pets to play.
What if you treat my property and it rains shortly after?
Not to worry! A freshly rained on treated lawn does not wash away the treatment. The product simply reactivates, then settles into your turf as it dries.
How long do I wait to cut my grass after you have treated?
As long as the product has dried, you are okay to mow your grass. However, best practice is to wait 24hrs after the treatment to mow.
Payment
How do you come up with the price?
Our Fertilization Program pricing is based on lawn square footage size. Quotes typically first reflect your entire property but can be adjusted to reflect just your front yard, just the front and sides of your yard, or even just the backyard.
How often do I make payments for the Lawn Fertilization & Weed Management Programs?
On our ORIGINAL Lawn Fertilization & Weed Management Program, you have pay a monthly payment, like a subscription. We take your program total and divide it by 12 for one easy, recurring payment. This is drafted on the first of each month.
On our PLUS+ Fertilization & Weed Management Program, you pay the first of each month. Again, we take the program total and divide it by 12 for one easy, recurring payment.
